Hello

Hi!Β  My name is April Kindrick and I’ve been working on writing for years.Β  Most of my work has been towards lecture material for both in class lectures and online lecture material.Β  I’ve done a few other projects, but I’ve gotten so easily distracted multiple times that most of my material is unfinished.Β  I even put together a website a few years ago, published a few articles, then there goes that sidetrack again.Β  I have now encountered an experience in my life that gives me something specific with direction to share with others.Β  My primary goal is to share my journey with family who are spread across the country so everyone knows what has transpired and eventually to catch up to where I am now, which is not far into the process.Β  My secondary goal is to educate.Β  I’ve been in education pretty much all of my life, either as a student, substitute teacher, teacher, then community college professor for the past two decades.Β  I love sharing knowledge and believe that knowledge allows for empowerment.Β Β  My third goal is for possible catharsis and release of all that I tend to bottle up inside.Β  I am taking my wonderful aunt’s advice to let the feelings come as they will and not fight them; To say yes, thank you, when people ask to help. And, finally, my last goal is to follow through with my writing and not only focus on being a cancer patient, but share other health and psychological information which is my passion.

*Let’s just agree that I am not the best selfie taker.Β  I’ll work on that. πŸ˜‰

I like this idea. As for me ,I find the info very helpful. Most likely someone reading this just might find them self in the same situation one day,and having some kind of idea what to expect. Something as simple as choosing to get the phone call at home verses the dr. Office. I will be reading keep it coming Love ya April

Hi April! I just caught up with your progress. First, I am just so damn impressed with you and your incredible bravery in the face of so much. Your vulnerability and openness is humbling to read and fierce in its honesty. Anxiety is such an ugly monster and when we’re alone in a dark and vulnerable place, it slithers in like a smooth talking serpent to whisper scary things in our minds that we previously hadn’t even contemplated as a possibility. As I started to type this, I found I was struggling to find the ‘right’ thing to say. Then, I realized that there is no right thing. What I want to convey is this: You are remarkable and special. Your sharing is so meaningful and valuable. I want you to get well and conquer the world. I don’t want to say anything stupid or careless. With all of that said, I want to share a link for any of your friends who may also be struggling to say or do ‘the right thing’.

The following is a quote from Eleanor Roosevelt, from her book You Learn By Living. Please don’t grade my crappy citation πŸ™‚

The encouraging thing is that every time you meet a situation, though you may think at the time it is an impossibility and you go through the tortures of the damned, once you have met it and lived through it you find that forever after you are freer than you ever were before. If you can live through that you can live through anything. You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you stop to look fear in the face.

You are able to say to yourself, `I lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.’

The danger lies in refusing to face the fear, in not daring to come to grips with it. If you fail anywhere along the line, it will take away your confidence. You must make yourself succeed every time. You must do the thing you think you cannot do.

LOL – we are past the grading parts! πŸ˜‰ That is a great link to share with others. Sometimes people really don’t know what to say or do. It sure brings up our mortality and that we only have so much time here.
Hope you are doing well and having a great quarter!
